The following is an excerpt from an email sent by Nancy Corbett regarding the 2010 Special Olympics.

I thought I’d send you a schedule so you get an idea of the scope of our event. I will also send the volunteer list. I have placed the Boy Scouts in a couple of spots already. You can let me know if this works for you.

Our primary need would be to have them for bringing in the flags during the opening ceremonies. We would need you to bring the flags and ideally you would also have stands to place the US and State flag near the awards podium. There will also be an athlete and law enforcement runner with the torch.

Secondly, if the young men would like to help us with take down after the morning events, and clean up of the stands and field that would be awesome.

Third, if they would like to help with the Bocce event, at Legend’s field, after lunch that would also be good.

Fourth, if you have any type of trailer that could hall 3 wheel adult trikes and bicycles from Legends field to the fairgrounds that would also be helpful.

There may be other areas they can help with in the morning depending on how many High School students are there. We can always use lots of cheering and support of our athletes.

Thanks again,
Nancy Corbett
